La idea era irnos aún niños is banishment. It’s deterritorialization, diaspora. An emotional and linguistic distance, a very usual place among the Peruvian poetic tradition that takes as an axis the contemplation of other people’s exiles in times of internal war and political violence, and the subsequent return to one´s place of origin. The fact that this book is a turning point – paraphrasing an old gasped voice grammar teacher – is not a coincidence because it transits through the very fiber of language. Verbs are ‘dared’, climate is described as ‘delinquent’.
